What a Great Way to Come Back!

I'm back!  Once again!  It has been a long time, with starts and stops along the way, but now I'm back and ready to go.  It's almost the end of a Stampin' Up! year and the new one is about to start.  What does that mean?   We have some old favorites leaving and some new ones arriving!  I figured this would be a great time for me to come back to Blogdom.

I received my new 2009-2010 catalog.  Stampin' Up! has gone back to one catalog a year!  This catalog is filled with some wonderful new product.  I wish I could share it all with you, but you're going to have to wait until July 1st - the official release date.  (Psst...wanna see it sooner?  Join my team and become a demo!)

I can show you sneak peek products - a sneak peek is a fun perk for us demos (yet another reason to join!).  Anyway, here they are.  They are just fabulous!

Take a look at your 09-10 In Colors...

Edited to add: I am happy to see that so many of you are enjoying my post.  I would respectfully ask that you not copy/paste this post or use my pictures on your blogs or anywhere else on the internet.  Feel free to link here.  Thanks for your understanding.

To give you a feel for what the colors look like, I stamped each color using the the new set Circle Circus.  It is stamped on Whisper White cardstock and also stamped it tone on tone.  The coordinating new Polka Dot 1/2" Grosgrain is also attached.  There is also a color comparison showing each new In Color paired with two colors from the core 48 colors.  The new In Color is placed in the middle of each comparison.

Sweet Always

Ten minute Tuesday is being brought to you today from Anaheim, CA.  I'm here for CHA and having a wonderful time!  We just got back from the eclectic Paperie party where the food was yummy and the drinks were flowing!  I have my camera, but can you believe I didn't take any pictures!  I was a tad bit embarrassed to ask if I could take pictures.  I couldn't believe the craft talent in the room.  Lots of SCS dirty dozen, design team members from various companies, even - okay hold on to your hats - Tim Holtz was there.  It was a fun evening.  Daisy and Joy of eP were wonderful hosts!

So, back to the card.  Here we have a card featuring an image from one of the upcoming Sale-a-bration sets.  This flower is from Polka Dot Punches.

Here's the recipe for this card:
Stamps:Polka Dot Punches
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Always
Punches: Circle, Scallop Circle, Oval

Ribbon: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain

I know tomorrow is Wednesday and you are just dying to see what I do to WOW up this card a bit.  But, I will still be in Anaheim and this internet connection is costing me an arm and a leg!  So, I will post the WOW'd card on Thursday.  Maybe by then, I'd have taken some pictures to post for you.  I haven't been doing much walking around this year, as I am actually work this year instead of just walking around the show. I'll report more later in the week about my experience working at CHA.

Until then, if you have any questions about this card, feel free to contact me at Michelle@stampworkshop.com.   Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. And don't forget to come back on Thursday for WOW-It Wednesday.

Go Stamp!

Don't Forget!

Later tonight, I'll be picking the winner of the Spring Summer 2009 catalog and $25 worth of free product.  There aren't very many entries right now, so chances of winning are pretty good!  lol

Check out the January 19, 2009 post for details or click here to get there directly.

Good luck!

Love You Much Joy Fold

It's just about three weeks until Valentine's day, so I thought I'd post a Valentine's card.  I made this card for a swap.

This card is a Joy Fold card.  To open it, you lift up the flap with the birds on it.  If you look carefully at the picture, you'll see that the bottom edge of the flap is tucked under the ribbon.  This is what keeps the card closed.  The bottom flap then comes down to reveal your message.  You can find directions to the Joy Fold Card in the resource section of Splitcoaststampers.  Click here for a direct link.

Here's the recipe for this card:
Stamps: Love You Much
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink.Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink
Designer Series Paper: Candy Lane
Ribbon: 5/8" Very Vanilla Grosgrain
Tools: Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Distresser Tool

If you have any questions about this card, feel free to contact me at Michelle@stampworkshop.com.

Much Love!

More Buzzed

So ya think this is WOW'd?  Maybe even more buzzed?  I can tell I'm only crackin' myself up here.  *wink*

Anyway, here is our Wednesday card. A few changes were made to the card, and it changed it quite a bit.

Here's what I did:

  • Added a Summer Sun layer
  • Distressed the edges of the Whisper White layer
  • Added a Rose Red layer under the flower image and distressed the edges
  • Added a scalloped circle layer with each scallop piereced
  • Edged the bee's circle with Basic Black ink
  • Added black gingham ribbon

I love using black on my cards in subtle layers.  It really help to draw out and highlight different colors on your card.

Here's the recipe for this card:
Stamps: Just Buzzin' By
Cardstock: Basic Black. Summer Sun, Whisper White, Rose Red
Ink: Basic Black, Summer Sun (marker)
Designer Series Paper: Raspberry Tart
Accessories: Black Gingham Ribbon
Punches: 1 3/8" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle, Scallop Circle
Tools: Paper Piercer, Distresser Tool

If you have any questions about this card, feel free to contact me at Michelle@stampworkshop.com. What do you think? Let me know! Hope you like it!

Just Keep Buzzin''!

10 Minute Buzz

It's Ten Minute Tuesday!  Yeah, I know.  I just couldn't resist putting that in the title.  I was {this} close to stamping "just buzzin' " as the sentiment on the card.  But, well, that's just inappropriate, right?  lol

Check out this cute little bee!  This card was made with the new set, Just Buzzin' By (Item 113228).  It is just too cute.  There are three little bees that look similar to this one.

This card, as you know, took me ten minutes. Although not difficult at all, the time consuming part of this card was coloring the bee and the flower.  I just took a bit of time so that I didn't color over the lines.

Here's the recipe for this card:
Stamps: Just Buzzin' By
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Summer Sun
Ink: Basic Black, Summer Sun (marker)
Designer Series Paper: Raspberry Tart
Punches: 1 3/8" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle

If you have any questions about this card, feel free to contact me at Michelle@stampworkshop.com. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. And don't forget to come back on Wednesday for WOW-It Wednesday.

Enjoy!

Tarted Raspberry

So what's after Ten Minute Tuesday?  Wow It Wednesday!  Although I love the simplicity of Ten Minute cards, I also enjoy the "WOW" cards.  On Wednesday, I take Tuesday's card and modify it just a bit.

A few changes were made to the card, and it changed it quite a bit.

Here's what I did:

  • Added a Kiwi Kiss layer
  • Distressed the edges of the Cameo Coral layer
  • Added a Whisper White layer
  • Made the raspberry piece of Designer Series Paper smaller
  • Added a kiwi piece of Designer Series Paper
  • Edged the circle with Cameo Coral
  • Added the brad/punched paper to the bottom left corner

The white layer really helps to add texture to the overall card.  I used card sketch 131 from SCS for the layout of this card.

Here's the recipe for this card:
Stamps: A Little Somethin'
Cardstock: Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral, Whisper White
Ink: Rose Red, Cameo Coral
Designer Series Paper: Raspberry Tart
Accessories: Vintage Brads
Punches: 1 3/4" Circle, Word Window
Tools: Paper Piercer

If you have any questions about this card, feel free to contact me at Michelle@stampworkshop.com. What do you think? Let me know! Hope you like it!

Happy Stampin'!

A Little Raspberry

It's Ten Minute Tuesday!  Isn't this paper pretty?  I love this pattern.  It's an upcoming designer series paper called Raspberry Tart.  The colors are so vibrant and bold.  I would love to have this pattern in fabric.  All the patterns and colors in this dsp would make a gorgeous quilt!

I enjoy making cards for Ten Minute Tuesday.  As you can tell, with a bit of layering and some DSP, your card is practically done.  Just add the image and you're finished.

The image is from A Little Somethin' which will be a Level 2 Hostess set.  In case you didn't know, the new Spring Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog (did you notice the name of the catalog has been changed back to Idea Book & Catalog?) will go live on January 19th.

Here's the recipe for this card:
Stamps: A Little Somethin'
Cardstock: Rose Red, Cameo Coral, Whisper White
Ink: Rose Red, Cameo Coral
Designer Series Paper: Raspberry Tart
Punches: 1 3/4" Circle

If you have any questions about this card, feel free to contact me at Michelle@stampworkshop.com. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. And don't forget to come back on Wednesday for WOW-It Wednesday.

Enjoy!

Let's Try This Again...

Happy 2009 everyone!  It's a new year and a fresh start for me.  As you can tell, my blog has been sorely neglected for about two months now.  Things are hectic, but I do miss blogging.  So, I'm making an effort to come back more often.  I've decided to post when possible.  It won't be daily, but hopefully 2-3 times a week will get me by.

Thank you all for continually returning to my blog.  I have been getting hits here and there, and I've gotten some very nice emails from people wondering where I've been.

While I was "away", this blog surpassed the 75,ooo visitor mark.  It also celebrated its first year.  Check back on Monday, January 12 for some blog candy posting to mark these two occassions.  It'll have something to do with the upcoming Spring/Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog!

I'll be tweaking my blog alittle bit over the next month or so, not big changes, but a few things that I've been thinking about.  I am excited about the changes and I hope you'll like them!

Well, like Forrest Gump says, "That's all I've got to say about that."

Thanks again for visiting!

OLMC Craft Fair 08

Here's my table display for the craft fair that was held this weekend at my church. I had a nice time and all the vendors there had some really beautiful things. That's the problem with craft fairs - you make money and turn around and spend it! lol

I had fun sitting near the women that I did. We had fun looking at each other's crafts. I think I may have gotten them interested in the next craft fair I am doing. We joked that we would just work the craft fair circut. lol

I have created a new photo album with pictures of some of the projects I made. You can check out the album here:  Craft Fair Pictures.

I'm hoping to put up instructions on how to make the notepad holders. It should be up by week's end. Come back to check it out!

Happy crafting!

Craft Fair Sampling

I am doing a craft fair this weekend and have been working on projects for awhile now.  Here is a look at one of the projects that I completed.  These are notepad holders.  The measure just under 3" X 5".

One thing I like about craft fairs is that it allows me to use up some of the retired supplies that I hoard - err, I mean, have.  (C'mon, you know what I'm talking about.  ROFL)

These were really easy to make (with the help of my Scor-Pal).  There is an inside pocket to hold receipts and such.  If you want to see the inside, click here.

Here's a listing of some of the supplies I used:
Stamps: Carte Postale, Short & Sweet, Warm Words
Cardstock: Old Olive, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Rose Red, So Saffron, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand, Real Red
Ink: Real Red, Rosee Red, Perfet Plum, Always Artichoke
Designer Series Paper: Dashing, Enchante, Cutie Pie, Holiday Harmony (???)
Tools: Oval Punches, Scor-Pal

If you are in the San Diego area, come stop by the craft fair.  It is being held THIS Saturday (November 15)  from 9am - 3pm at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, 13541 Stoney Creek Rd, San Diego, CA 92129.

I'll be selling these notepad holders, nugget tins, cards, and a few stocking stuffer type things.  I'll also have a stash of retired stamp sets for sale.

Come by if you can, I'd be happy to see you!  *smile*
